I have not taken it apart but it appears to me that it was done on the inside cover of an old school geography book
I really like the geometrical form of this old tramp art bank
and I am quite sure painted there
and the homely face on this one won me immediately
which makes me think it's true purpose may have been to serve as a pin cushion--and an easy one not get buried under under things
Ernest Young Man Tenderly Holding Chicken, c. 1940s-50s Snapshot save the food advertisement I have not taken itPortraits of very sincere looking boys holding farm chickens is one of my very favorite genres ever! And a very loving relationship captured here, I'd say. Looks like a view to the coop in the background, and a couple of nice diagonals framing him and the bird too. Sweet and tender. 5 1 8" x 3 1 16". Clipped corners as evident, and some toning as evident.
