Description
The 2014 Barolo le Vigne is bright and fruit-forward
The dryness should round out in time as there is no associated sense of astringency
This is very good and should amply reward mid-term cellaring
Billaud noted that this would be bottled the week after I tasted it
It remains to be seen if this will flesh out with a few years of bottle age
Domaine Ponsot, Chambertin Vintage:2002 The 2014 Barolo le Vignefrom a tiny . 15 ha parcel of vines planted in 1961. Complex and wild red fruit aromas with plenty of earth, game and roasted coffee notes merge into tight, nicely pure, sappy and extremely intense flavors that are not especially concentrated but do offer exceptional persistence, all supported by refined and ripe tannins. This is the best Ponsot Chambertin in some years.
