One can just barely make out an old graphite drawn face of this very old friend
This carved stone head distills much of what I love about Inuit art--through a spareness of means this face manages to feel resolute as well as vulnerable
One of the things I love most is the row of red brick buildings showing through the neatly planted row of trees on the green--subtle but decisive
the "Broomfield" scrawled at the bottom of each sketch I believe refers to the location of the drawing--a hamlet in Wiltshire
Light age toning to the ruled paper but in excellent structural condition
Perfect Form - Vintage Ribbed Studio Pottery Pitcher Incised "R" antique carved whimsy One can just barely makeAn excellent pitcher to display atop the old painted stool I just listed perfectly complementary. Pitchers are my favorite form of pottery, and the combination of boxy, ribbed body, swoop of a handle, and narrow neck opening to wide lip on this one is really beautiful. Hand thown and incised with a "R" on the underside; I have not identified the potter. Earthy modern, mid late 20th c. I believe. 6 3 8 t x 3 1 2 d at base. 5 1 2 across at handle spout.
