Northwest Coast Salish Lidded Coiled Basket 1960s at its lowest point itBeautifully proportioned and in excellent condition, this very fine Northwest Coast Salish tightly coiled lidded basket dates I believe from the late 19th or early 20th century. Salish weavers are well known for their coiled baskets, often decorated with geometric motifs as was this one. Made of sea grass, the basket's exterior is a variegated honey color with faded red medallion and red and blue striping. The interior of the lid and body reveals the
