Description
These two wonderful drinking bowls were made by indigenous Canelos Quichua women in the Oriente (upper Amazonian) region of Ecuador
but everything seems in excellent working order--a really terrific little kit inside a beautiful box
who looks a bit Scandanavian to me
Very nicely carved and super sculptural
and the legs appear to be cast brass
Perfect Pear: 19th C. Theorem Watercolor on Paper \to hang These two wonderful drinking bowlsThere are so many sorts of things I've fallen more and more in love with over time, theorem paintings very much one of them. I really love the super folky early theorems on velvet, but a crisp watercolor theorem on paper like this one satisfies in a whole different way; what a jewel like thing this ripening pear on its stem is, with a few rich green leaves setting it off just perfectly. So contemporary feeling, too; a perfectly resolved, very lovely
