and it is one I handle pretty carefully as I believe it is really very old and somewhat fragile

What a charmer of a puffin, and what a charmer of a letter opener, to keep on one's desk, or perhaps to stick like a post into a bowl full of pretty rocks and pebbles. C. 1920s 30s I
