A Royal Flying Corps (Rfc) Sweetheart Wings In Gold, C. 1917 Newly Listed Instituted on 31 December 1792In 9 Kt Gold, weighing 6. 1 grams, marked "9 Ct" (9 Kt Gold) on the reverse, intricately engraved and exhibiting terrific fine detail in the crown, insignia, wreath and wings, measuring 78 mm (w) x 24. 7 mm (h), horizontal pinback, contact marks evident on the reverse, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Royal Flying Corps was the air arm of the British Army before and during the First World War, until it merged with the Royal Naval Air Service on
