A half moon gorget constructed of brightly polished aluminum with a raised perimeter rim, the obverse centre presents a red enamelled shield bearing a black enamelled Iron Cross, surrounded by a gilded upward facing oak leaf wreath, bordered on either side by flags, the reverse presents a black felt backing, marked on the reverse hook with the number 3, the gorget is suspended from an aluminum chain consisting of interconnected links,
