Warhawk was the US designation, while the British Commonwealth and Soviets used the Tomahawk designation for their P 40Bs and Cs. Some fuel tank improvements and armor additions made the P 40C variant even heavier. The P 40 served with the British in North Africa and the Middle East early in WWII. Although the
