Murad IV, Ottoman Emperor Size:S: 30 x 25cm The subject is seatedMurad IV, Ottoman Emperor, (1808). Murad (1612 1640) became Sultan in 1623 when he deposed his mentally unstable uncle, Mustapha I. He used decisive and brutal methods to quell the rebellions and corruption that had become endemic within the empire.
