More than once, hed blind tasted dAuvenays Aligot Sous Chtelet alongside top premier and grand cru Chardonnay and more than once, it held its own. Sometimes it even stole the show. His family had long grown Aligot, once bottling it under the Arnoux name, before the grape fell out of favor and the fruit was sold off to ngociants. Charles brought it back determined to vinify it himself.
