ヴィンテージデニムのように色褪せていく風合いを靴下で表現したかったが、インディゴで染めるとどうしても靴への色移りを懸念せざるを得ず、これまで断念していた。そんな時に、一般的な染料ではあるものの、ヴィンテージデニムに使われる糸と同じ技法で染色された糸を見つけた。ニットという製造方法の中でヴィンテージデニムのような表現を実現するのは非常に難しいが、中心が白く残るその糸に耐久性の高いヘビーウェイトの編立を組み合わせることで、色移りしないという実用性を保ちながら、履くほどに風合いが増すヴィンテージデニムのような表情を表現できたのではないかと思う。I wanted to express the fading texture of vintage denim through socks

The result was a pair of socks with just the right amount of shimmer.
