Hugo Mendes Lisboa Pitau Branco 2024 JURARARE then aged in neutral oakHugo Mendes is one of the most interesting young voices in Portuguese wine. He worked his way up from cellar hand to head winemaker at Quinta da Murta in Bucelas before going independent in 2019. His debut vintage in 2016 was famously funded through a pioneering crowdfunding campaign while he was still at Quinta da Murta. He focuses on Lisboa's overlooked white grapes: Arinto, Fernao Pires, Vital, with a touch of Alvarinho. Pitau Branco is his entry
