It comes from a single vineyard planted in 1997 down in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, in Montalcino's warm southern sector a very different animal from the estate's cooler Canalicchio home base, and the source of its most brooding, powerful Brunello. The 2021 is dark and dense without ever turning clumsy: violet and eucalyptus lift floating over forest berry, new leather and dark
